Driving to Figueres from Barcelona will take approximately 1h30min of mostly freeway driving once out of Barcelona. Car rentals can be found at Barcelona airport.

Figueres Vilafant station sits on the fast train line from Barcelona Sants station. The journey is only 55 minutes.

Barcelona Sants station is a 10 minute taxi from central Barcelona or a 20 minute taxi from the airport.

You can then rent a car from the Figueres train station to help get around the local area.

While there are fewer flights, it is also possible to fly into Girona-Costa Brava airport. From here, it is just a 40 minute drive up to Figueres. Car rental is available at the airport or it is also possible to take a taxi from here.

If you prefer to take a taxi directly from the airport or from Barcelona it will cost approximately 200 euros. The airport taxi rank or most hotels should be able to help order a car.

Otherwise, common taxi and private car apps commony used in Barcelona are ‘FreeNow’ and ‘Cabify’. ‘BlaBla Car’ also exists as a rideshare app that is much more cost effective.
